Canning

part 1 - broccoli pickles

After some initial missteps with my Green Bean Delivery, I was left with 3 heads of broccoli in 2 weeks!  Ach!
I decided to try pickling it.  In my typical fashion, my planning was a bit off.  Here's how it happened:

I was shopping for groceries when I saw a sale on pickling spices.  Yeah!  I'll pickle that broccoli.  I picked up the lids and $0.49 pickling spices and was off.  To a home with no vinegar.  So I improvised with raisen-jalepeno wine from an Iowa winery and some balsamic vinegar and got to canning.  The results were delish.
